The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has predicted cloudy skies with cases of slight to moderate rains across much of Ghana today, Tuesday, June 25.

In its 24-hour forecast issued this morning, GMet said "the country is expected to be cloudy with cases of slight to moderate rains and occasional thunder over few areas within the southern half this morning."

Mist and fog patches are expected to reduce visibility along coastal, forested and hilly areas early in the day.

However, "sunny intervals will be observed giving way to occurrences of Isolated thunderstorms or rain over parts of the coastline and inland areas from late afternoon into the evening," according to GMet forecaster Mercy Effah Pardie.

Some of the major cities expected to experience rain this morning include Accra, Cape Coast and Takoradi, with probabilities of slight to moderate rain ranging from 30-40%.

Accra can expect "slight rain" from 6am according to GMet, with a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius.

The rains are expected to clear up in parts of the country by late afternoon and evening, giving way to isolated thunderstorms in coastal areas.

Mercy Effah Pardie of GMet signed off the forecast saying the sea state will be "rough" with waves of up to 2 meters expected.
