Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong has hit out at North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP) Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, accusing him of engaging in ungodly lies.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in the last few weeks has made a series of social media posts and granted several interviews where he kicked against the sale of SSNIT hotels to Rock City Hotel Ltd.

The MP argued that the sale of the hotels to Rock City Hotel Ltd which belongs to Bryan Acheampong is conflict of interest.

According to him, the sale is part of a state-capture attempt by the ruling New Patriotic Party government and must not be allowed to materialise.

Recently, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated he has information indicating that Rock City Hotel made a loss in 2023, insisting that the hotel does not have the capacity to buy any of the four SSNIT hotels in question.

Speaking to City News on Wednesday evening, Bryan Acheampong accused Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of engaging in propaganda.

He said all the allegations made by the North Tongu MP are lies.

“They [Rock City Hotel] don’t have any records at GRA for anybody to even intercept but if you look at what the main protagonist in this has been saying that he has intercepted documents, I put it to him that they are all lies. They are fabrications beyond propaganda. They are pure-ungodly lies and I don’t think an honourable member should do that. You can always dance around the facts but you cannot enter into the realms of lies that you have intercepted documents and the documents say Rock City is making losses,” Bryan Acheampong said.

The Minister of Food and Agriculture continued, “Rock City is yet to file their annual returns for 2023. They will file before the deadline. So, the question of someone having intercepted GRA documents is not true. It’s a blatant lie and the young man is full of lies.”

Asked to answer whether Rock City Hotel made a profit or loss in 2023, Bryan Acheampong went silent on that but indicated that the company is even yet to file its returns this June ending.
