Popular Kumawood actor, Agya Koo, and members of his political group, The Base Movement, reportedly faced resistance from some youth in Obogu in the Asante Akyem South Constituency during a campaign visit.
According to reports, tensions arose after a member of the group allegedly referred to Obogu youth as “villagers” while engaging with residents.
The comment angered some youth in the community, who expressed disappointment and questioned why the group would seek their support while making what they considered as a disrespectful remark about their hometown.
In a video circulating online, some residents were seen confronting Agya Koo and his team and demanding that they leave the area.
Despite the actor's attempts to defuse the situation, the youth remained unhappy about the alleged comment.
“So we are in the bush, and yet you are here looking for our votes? Move your car from this place. How can you come here and say we are villagers but still come seeking our votes?” one of the youth was heard saying in the video.
