CD Numancia forward, Yaw Yeboah says he is hoping for a future call-up to play for the Black Stars despite being told by the head coach for the side CK Akonnor that he is not ready.

The highly-rated attacker who is the captain of the Ghana u-23 team is keeping a cool head and has taken the words of the coach in good faith.

He is determined not to allow it to affect him in any way but says he remains focused and optimistic about getting ready very soon to merit a call-up to the Black Stars team from Coach CK Akonnor.

“It wasn’t too surprising I wasn’t invited for the AFCON qualifier against Sudan, I had the chance to talk to coach CK Akonnor and he told me I’m not ready for the Black Stars”, Yaw Yeboah told Kumasi FM while commenting on the maiden call-up of the new coach.

The youngster further shared, “After joining Celta Vigo B, I’m waiting to play in the La Liga and so far I have been playing a couple of games and also get the opportunity to train with the first team.

“He feels my confidence is low but he knows me very well and even coached me at ‘Right to Dream Academy.

“We have a good relationship but I feel he decides who to call, maybe in the next call up I will be ready”.

“As a young player and as a Ghanaian, I always want to represent my country at every level. For now, I’m done with the youth level and looking up to a Black Stars call up”, the 23-year-old attacker concluded.
