How you're treated while on the throne suggests you'll be miserable when you vacate it — Kwesi Pratt to Akufo-Addo

Kwesi Pratt, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, has admonished President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be mindful of his actions and the treatment he receives from his own party members.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, Pratt expressed his concern over the sudden shift in blame over the country's economic difficulties, which he says seems to be directed entirely at President Akufo-Addo.

His remarks are in reaction to criticisms of former Trade Minister and leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, who is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming December presidential elections.

Critics have questioned why Kyerematen failed to implement the policies he now promises while he was the Trade Minister under President Akufo-Addo's administration.

In reaction , Pratt pointed out the inconsistency in the criticism, implying that other candidates, such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, should be held to the same standard.

Pratt highlighted the internal dynamics within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), suggesting that the way party members are treating President Akufo-Addo now indicates a bleak future for him once he leaves office.

"Nana Addo, stand well because if you are being treated this way while sitting on the throne, what will happen when you vacate it?

“You, being the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, are being treated this way; then you will be miserable when you leave the government," Pratt cautioned.
