Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso signs new deal with RC Lens until 2027

Austrian defender of Ghanaian descent, Kevin Danso has committed his future to French Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens.

In a communique from the club on Thursday, August 3, it said the player has signed a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2027.

Photos posted by the club show Kevin Danso displaying a big smile as he put pen on paper to extend his contract.

“The Lensoise hinge retains its pillar! Gradually rising in power in two seasons in Artois, Kevin Danso extends the contract which binds him to Racing until 2027. A true defender, promoted to part of the workforce by Franck Haise, the player with 13 selections with Austria will continue to transmit his good humor under the artesian tunic,” a club statement from RC Lens said.

Kevin Danso, 24, joined RC Lens in 2021 after ending his stay in Germany where he played for Augsburg.

Since arriving in France, he has starred for RC Lens and is now regarded as one of the best defenders in the division.

Before signing the contract extension deal, the full-back was chased by Italian Serie A Champions SSC Napoli but opted to stay.
