Celebrated Ghanaian journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has opined that the next decade will be tough for Ghana.

Speaking to Metro TV on the Good Morning Ghana show, Mr. Pratt said the next President who will take over from the current administration would inherit a bankrupt nation.

According to him, it is in the best interest of John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to tone down on their promises ahead of the 2024 general election.

“Whoever wins the next election should be careful. They should stop making promises. They are coming to take over a bankrupt nation. That’s what they are taking over so they should stop making those lofty promises and so on because when they take power and they face the reality they will smell pepper,” Kwesi Pratt Jnr warned.

The veteran journalist in the conversation shared that it will be a blessing for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) if the party loses the December 7 polls.

“If the NPP should lose power now it will be a blessing for them. They will escape the Kenyan situation. It’s those who are coming in who will face the reality of the bankruptcy and so on. So those who want to come in they should take their time,” Kwesi Pratt added.

Although several political parties will be involved in the 2024 general election, the contest is expected to be fierce between the ruling NPP and the opposition NDC.
