Assin North By-elections: Constituents root for James Gyakye Quayson
LISTEN

Constituents at Assin North say James Gyakye Quayson is their preferred candidate.

In an interview with constituents ahead of the by-elections on June 27, they expressed hope in Mr. James Gyakye Quayson whom they vowed to vote for in the by-election.

According to them, his period as a Member of Parliament (MP) in just two years prior to the court's decision has seen the electrification of communities, pipe borne-water among others development projects.

Meanwhile, the NPP has moved troops and government machinery to Assin North constructing roads and undertaking other development works in the area to cajole voters.

However, constituents said the work done by Mr. Gyakye Quayson is unmatched although he is an MP in opposition.

"The people of Assin North have gone through a lot of developmental challenges. We have been voting over the years but not experience any vital development in the area but the coming of James Gyakye Quayson, has proven otherwise," Mrs. Jacobel Amakye said.

"Many parts of the constituency were without light but on my way from Kumasi recently I realized that developments including electricity, water among others have sprung up. Even recently roofs of some school buildings were ripped off and he replaced them all, this was even when the court had nullified his election because of his alleged Canadian citizenship," he stated.

They urged fellow constituents to consider the developments undertaken by James Gyakye Quayson in the last few years and vote for him to continue the developmental agenda for the community.
