Why Elikem deserved to win BBA grand prize
LISTEN

Ghana's first ever Big Brother Africa reality show finalist, Elikem Kumordzi  was until the final announcement,  inches away from winning the final prize of 300,000 US dollars.

The charismatic tailor became the first housemate to book a place in the final of the show after winning the last Head of House task, which gave him an automatic ticket to the finale. With evictions over, Elikem's had his fate lying in the hands of Africans to vote massively for him.

The Ghanaian Chasemate fought quite a few battles to make it to the finish line in one piece. Having been the target of serious frenemy squabbles, it took Elikem a while to wake up and smell the coffee. He was quite popular with the ladies before settling with Zimbabwe's Pokello and the ladies had to take a chill pill.

A man of firsts, Elikem was also the only Chasemate to have had the nerve to Nominate his love-interest when he put up Pokello. He was also the first Ghanaian to make it to the finale. This original Diamond became Head of House three times and survived five Evictions; twice by Africa and three times by the respective HoH.

According to a poll running on the official website of Big Brother Africa, Elikem was the most entertaining of all the five housemates remaining. As at the time of filing this report, Elikem was leading with 32.04% out of 9325, and he was followed by Melvin with 25.64%. Cleo had 23.12%, Dillish with 10.51% and trailing behind was Beverly with 8.69%.

It was not surprising that Elikem won the hearts of many, including Eastern and Southern African countries. Elikem had been so proud of himself when he had his chat with Biggie, last Saturday. He was telling everyone willing to listen that he had made history as the first Ghanaian to have made it this far on Big Brother Africa.

When Biggie asked him what he would do if he doesn't win the money, he simply said that the platform alone has paved so many avenues for him and he intended on venturing every one of them. 'Not everyone has made it to this level in the game and I'm grateful to Africa for having my back,' he said genuinely.

Elikem told Biggie that he intended on getting his ex-Housemates together again so they could do things that matter together. He was grateful to have met the likes of Fatima, his girl Pokello and of course country mate Selly.

He further said that his stay in Biggie's House was great from the first day and he was now looking forward to the end. 'I'll be happy that I was here for the rest of my life and I will motivate other people in my country to audition for BBA,' he said passionately.

Elikem admitted that he was now a better person because of his experience on The Chase.

He ended his session by shouting out to his family and country and thanked all of them for having his back throughout his time in Biggie's house.

Tailor and actor Elikem Kumordzie is single and hails from Accra. Denzel Washington and Samuel L Jackson are his favourite actors - the former because he's bold, confident and a natural and the latter because 'he has made the black man proud'.
