In a recent discussion on UTV, Socrate Safo, Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture (NCC), highlighted strides made in Ghana's creative arts sector under the current Akufo-Addo’s administration.

Socrates Safo commended the government's commitment to revitalizing the industry, contrasting it with what he described as stagnation during the previous Mahama administration.

"During John Mahama's tenure, the industry faced numerous disappointments and minimal progress," Safo remarked, underscoring a stark contrast with the current administration's proactive approach.

He pointed to ongoing initiatives including the development of new theaters and the establishment of a creative arts school in Kumasi as tangible signs of progress.

"The growth we've witnessed is substantial," Safo emphasized, noting that the current government has prioritized transparency and inclusivity in its policies.

He highlighted key achievements such as the passage of the Creative Arts Bill and the establishment of a dedicated film authority, which have bolstered the sector's infrastructure and regulatory framework.

Socrates Safo concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Ghana's creative arts, attributing the sector's recent successes to the government's unwavering support and strategic initiatives.
