Sports Sponsorship Course Rescheduled To July 21

The Ethel – Jane University College of Sports, the premier sports university college in Africa, has rescheduled its Sports Sponsorship certification course for July 21st – 23rd, 2009 at its West Tesano campus, Accra.

The maiden programme, originally slated for May 26th – 28th, 2009 and being organised in partnership with the Sport Business Group International of the UK has sports icon, Mr. Graham Hollins, MA. (Oxon), the renowned British sports consultant of over 10 years experience in corporate sponsorship, rights ownership and management as the resource person.

The course aims at providing participants with all the information needed to begin building a comprehensive sponsorship programme from understanding the legal side of sponsorship to identifying potential sponsors, pitching, negotiating, activating and evaluating as well as warding off ambush marketing.

Participants from a number of African countries, including Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia and Zambia will be attending the certification course.

According to the Programmes Director of the Ethel – Jane University College of Sports, Nana Adwoa Danquah, a number of new courses have been planned for the last quarter of the year, including Growing Finances of Sports Clubs, Sports Club Management; Sports Facility Management; Sports Facility Planning and Land Use; Sports Facility Development; and Sports Investment and Entrepreneurship.

Other courses will include Sports Tourism Management, with specialisations in Sports Events Planning, Sports Events Administration, Sports Events Architecture, and Sports Events Safety and Security.
