Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has affirmed that his team will not follow Asante Kotoko's approach of mass player exodus, despite their rivals parting ways with 21 players following a disappointing season.

The Phobians narrowly avoided relegation in the 2023/24 season with a crucial 3-2 victory over Bechem United, finishing with 45 points.

Ahead to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, Ouattara, who signed a mid-season two-and-a-half-year deal, emphasized a cautious approach to team rebuilding.

“You are sacking 100 and bringing 200, what is the results? He quizzed in an interview with SportsObama TV.

“Let us go slowly. When you go slowly, you have a 100% chance to achieve something. Sacking 11, 22, 100 players, we bring in 100 and we start again, you are [wasting] money." he added.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ibrahim Salifu has departed after failing to renew his contract.

Hearts of Oak are reportedly eyeing former Kotoko midfielder Enoch Morrison and ex-Bechem United forward Augustine Okrah for signings ahead of the new season.
