A former vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie has expressed optimism in the chances of the Black Stars securing qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In a video uploaded on Nationalist TV on YouTube, the experienced football administrator stresses that despite the in-form players in the Nigeria team, Ghana equally has good players and can come out of the playoff tie with victory over the course of the two legs.

“Ignore the big names. We have the men and we are capable of beating Nigeria. We are capable and we will be able to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” George Afriyie shared.

The former GFA Presidential aspirant has also called on Ghanaians to fill the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday when the Black Stars host the Super Eagles in the first leg of the tie.

“Fellow football-loving fans, fellow Ghanaians football-loving fans. This is another big opportunity for us to show massive support for our dear Black Stars. Remember there is only one Black Stars. We are the Black Stars of Africa.

“I call on every single football-loving fan in Ghana and outside Ghana to go to Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium to give massive support to cheer our Black Stars to victory,” George Afriyie is heard saying in the video.
