The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana branch of the global media agency PHD Worldwide, Bright Ladzekpo has urged corporate Ghana to take advantage of the growing trend in technology to remain relevant in the business environment.

This, he stressed would help them address challenges and remain a step ahead of their competitors.

Mr. Ladzekpo made the call at the Thought Leadership Conference and debate on Artificial Intelligent (AI) Revolution and its implication on marketing in Accra.

The conference under the auspices of PHD Ghana forms part of their contribution to the development of the Marketing and Communication industry in Ghana.

The debate dubbed: ‘“Man versus Machine: Will Tomorrow’s Artificial Intelligence Replace Today’s ‘Mad Men’? saw Mr. Ladzekpo and Dr. Ayorkor Korsah, Assistant Professor of Computer at Ashesi exploring the implications of the comingof AI revolution for marketing, advertising and journalism as well as its impact on our daily lives, societies and economies around the globe.

The PHD Ghana CEO was of the view that without technology, the mode of communication between businesses, family and friends would have been difficult since the only mode of communication was through letters which takes weeks to get to the recipient.

He maintained that adapting quickly to the new technologies will give businesses the opportunity of interacting with business solutions that will drive their businesses whilst providing value for their customers.

Mr. Ladzekpo advised businesses not to remain passive, but be abreast of new trends in technology that would help transform the economy.

Dr. Ayorkor Korsah also underscored the need for businesses and institutions to embrace technology because “it has come to stay”.

She said electronic means of preserving historical data has become imperative to reduce cost.

Dr. Korsah however cautioned businesses and individuals not to give out a lot of personal information to reduce the risk of cybercrimes.

There was also the launch of PHD Worldwide latest book “Sentience: The Coming AI Revolution and the Implications for Marketing” in Ghana.

The book explores the incredible potential of the far reach of AI, the road leading up to it, the tantalizing possibilities for marketers and what they can do now to start to prepare.
