Ave Maria school holds 10th graduation on Saturday

Ave Maria International School, an outstanding private school that spans crèche to Junior High School located at Dansoman in the Ablekuma South Constituency of Accra, will on Saturday hold its 10th graduation ceremony under the theme: A sound academic and moral education of a child, a shared responsibility.

One hundred and seventeen Junior High School pupils who took the 2010 Basic School Education Certificate Examination and are awaiting their results to seek senior high school admission will graduate with certificates from the school.

And for the first time in the history of the school, the joint-graduation ceremony on Saturday will see 98 pupils from the nursery department graduate to join the basic school curriculum, according to the proprietor Mr. Michael Safo Antwi.

Twenty teachers will also be awarded cash prizes for their dedication to work, time keeping and good character, among other disciplines cherished by the school.

“The objective is to encourage all the teachers to give of their best in helping to shape up the mental, social as well as the physical development of the students,” said the proprietor in an interview with myjoyonline.com, adding that Women and Children's Affairs Minister, Mrs Juliana Azumah Mensah will be the special guest to address the gathering.

As part of activities, there will be a trooping of the school cadet corps, songs choreography and awards for outstanding students.

The school was founded in 1982 as a private Catholic school and has persisted in posting excellent results at the BECE.
