Ghana-UK Investment Summit 2026 ends with renewed call for investment in Ghana

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has renewed Ghana's call for increased foreign investment, urging global investors to capitalise on the vast economic opportunities available in the country and across the African continent.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Ghana-UK Investment Summit 2026, the Minister stated Ghana's readiness to attract strategic investments that will accelerate industrialisation, create jobs, and drive sustainable economic growth.

According to her, the summit demonstrated the deepening economic partnership between Ghana and the United Kingdom, highlighting the immense potential for mutually beneficial collaborations across key sectors of the economy.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare stated that the government remains committed to creating an enabling environment that supports business growth and investment, assuring both local and international investors of policy measures to improve industrial expansion and economic transformation.

She described Ghana as an ideal destination for investment, citing its strategic location, political stability, growing market opportunities, and access to the wider African market through regional trade initiatives.

Expressing optimism about Africa's economic future, the Minister declared that the continent is poised for significant growth and innovation.

"Africa's moment is now, and Ghana is where it all begins," she stated, reinforcing the country's ambition to serve as a gateway for investment into Africa.

The Minister noted that discussions held during the summit opened new avenues for collaboration in trade, agribusiness, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, and other strategic sectors critical to economic development.

“Strengthening partnerships between Ghanaian and British businesses would contribute significantly to enhancing trade volumes, promoting innovation, and creating employment opportunities for the youth,” she said.

The Minister commended the collective efforts of stakeholders who contributed to the success of the summit, including the Ghana and UK High Commissioners, development partners, sponsors, speakers, panellists, and participants.

She said that the engagements and partnerships forged during the summit would translate into tangible investments that support Ghana's industrialisation agenda and strengthen economic relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

The Ghana-UK Investment Summit 2026 brought together policymakers, business leaders, investors, and development partners to explore investment opportunities and deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.
