In a landmark decision that signifies a breakthrough in local governance, the Pru West District Assembly has successfully elected a presiding member after four previously unsuccessful attempts.

Hon. Aminu Mohammed Yakabu secured 100% endorsement from both the elected and appointed members of the assembly.

This unanimous vote met the required threshold for the election of a presiding member according to the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4), marking a significant achievement for the district.

The successful election, held in a formal and well-attended assembly session at Pru West District Assembly Hall, saw the presence of Prang and Abease Traditonal Council, the District Chief Executive, unit committees of some electoral areas, and other major stakeholders, highlighting the importance of this event.
