The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has said its investigations into allegations of corruption and conflict of interest against Reverend Victor Kusi-Boateng, Secretary of the National Cathedral Board, have been delayed due to the failure of one of the respondents to provide key information.

In a letter dated June 27, 2024, CHRAJ informed parties involved in the case that it had concluded investigations into all material issues, except for information yet to be submitted by JNS Talent Centre Limited, the fifth respondent.

The case was filed last January by MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who had petitioned CHRAJ to investigate Rev. Kusi-Boateng over allegations of possessing multiple identities and receiving an improper GH¢2.6 million payment from the National Cathedral Secretariat to his company, JNS Talent Centre.

According to the letter, "investigations on all material issues have been concluded by the Commission save for some information that the 5th Respondent/JNS TALENT CENTRE is yet to provide."

It warned JNS Talent Centre that if the requested information is not received before the given deadline expires, the Commission "will proceed and conclude without it."

CHRAJ said it is currently working to finalize its decision on the matter while awaiting the outstanding documents.

Meanwhile, when the allegations first emerged, the National Cathedral insisted "this is not an illegal payment. This is a documented trail that you can always ask for verification."
