NPP Election 2024: Retain NPP to complete key hospital projects – Okoe Boye
THU, 27 JUN 2024 LISTEN

Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, Minister for Health, has called on the electorates in the Ashanti region to retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power to ensure the completion of critical hospital projects, particularly the Maternity and Children's block at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

The 500-bed Maternity and Children's block project at KATH had stalled due to the Debt Exchange Programme but has recently resumed work.

During a tour of the project site, Dr. Okoe Boye highlighted that the contractor would not be able to complete the project by December 2024.

He emphasised the need for the NPP to remain in power to see the project through to completion.

“The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will abandon the KATH project and other similar initiatives, therefore, it is crucial to vote for the NPP to 'break the eight' and enable us to complete these vital projects,” Dr. Okoe Boye stated.

In addition to the KATH project, the Minister mentioned the 40-bed capacity hospital project at Suame, which began in 2020 but was also delayed due to the Debt Exchange Programme.

Dr. Okoe Boye assured that this project would be completed by September this year.
