Bawumia calls on Akufo-Addo; formally informs him of selecting Mathew Opoku Prempeh as running mate

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has informed President Akufo-Addo about his decision to select Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.

Since he was elected flagbearer of the ruling party, the entire country has been waiting to know who the Vice President will select to partner him as running mate for the 2024 General Elections.

After several months, multiple sources have today confirmed that the choice of running mate has been finalised.

Modernghana News has learned that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday, June 25, called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.

The agenda was for him to officially communicate to the President that he has settled on Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.

It is understood that the President offered his support and advice.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to meet with the NPP Council of Elders before an official announcement to the public on his choice of running mate.

The Vice President is keen on leading the NPP to victory in the 2024 General Election to break the 8 for the party.
