Following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's recent ministerial reshuffle, political commentator, Atik Mohammed has offered his perspective on the newly appointed ministers and deputy ministers.

The reshuffle saw key changes, with Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam taking over as the Finance Minister from Ken Ofori-Atta and Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye succeeding Kwaku Agyemang Manu as the Health Minister.

President Akufo-Addo also announced other appointments, including Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as the new Works and Housing Minister, replacing Francis Asenso-Boakye. Asenso-Boakye, in turn, assumed the role of Roads and Highways Minister, succeeding Kwasi Amoako Atta.

The reshuffle affected the Information Ministry, where Deputy Information Minister Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar ascended to the position of Information Minister.

Additionally, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover was appointed as the new Greater Accra Regional Minister, leading to Henry Quartey's move to the Interior Ministry.

Atik Mohammed, providing his insights on the appointments during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, described the new ministers as "injury time players."

He expressed skepticism about the potential impact of these appointments, stating that their presence in the would not bring about essential changes in the country's economy.

In particular, Mohammed highlighted Dr. Amin Adam's appointment to the Finance Ministry, describing it as "inheriting a crisis."

He said, “With these injury time players, there is nothing substantial that a lot of them can do. Like Dr. Amin Adam who has been sent to the Finance Ministry, he's just inherited crises."

While critical of most appointments, Mohammed lauded Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, as one of the most diligent politicians.

However, he expressed doubt about Dr. Okoe-Boye's ability to make any positive changes in the health sector due to the limited time.
