NDC Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini has opined on the rumored changes in the leadership of the NPP Caucus in Parliament.

Speaking on Accra-based JoyNews’ AM show on Wednesday, February 21, Mr. Suhuyini said the NPP "needs a tough leader like Afenyo Markin" to steer the Majority Caucus as it readies itself for opposition.

"Discussions have progressed in selecting Afenyo Markin as the Majority Leader," the MP said.

Mr. Suhuyini's comments come amid rumors of an imminent change in leadership of the NPP caucus in Parliament.

However, First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei Owusu, also known as "Joewise", dismissed such speculations in a press conference on Tuesday.

"The majority caucus has not made any changes in its leadership, the majority caucus has not contemplated making any changes to its leadership and we will tell the world and Ghana to ignore any such publication," Mr. Osei Owusu said.

He maintained that the NPP parliamentary group retains "full confidence" in the current leadership under Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and that changes, if any, will be communicated officially.
