Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, Kwame Agboza has cast doubt on the ability of the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) newly formed campaign team to successfully market Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia—the party's presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.

According to the Minority Chief Whip in Ghana's Parliament, Kwame Agboza, the work of the NPP campaign team will not yield results

His reason is that Dr. Bawumia, the incumbent Vice President who is leading the NPP's ticket, has become a "very damaged product."

The Minority Chief Whip believes the campaign team faces an uphill task convincing Ghanaians to vote for Bawumia due to what he describes as irreparable damage to the Vice President's image and reputation.

In a social media post on Tuesday, February 19, Mr. Agboza stated "NPP has created a 40-member CAMPAIGN TEAM to sell a VERY DAMAGED PRODUCT."

The NPP announced on Monday the formation of a campaign team, to be led by the party's flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his yet-to-be-named running mate.

It includes party stalwarts like Nana Akufo-Addo, former President Kufuor, Freddie Blay, Frema Osei Opare, Justin Koduah, Henry Nana Boakye, Nana Akomeah and several others.

According to information from the party, the team's main responsibility will be "to coordinate, plan and execute nationwide campaign activities" in preparation for the 2024 elections.
