Nana Kwame Bediako, leader of the New Force Movement, has clarified his decision to appoint a Belgian, Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, as the group's spokesperson, citing the reluctance of many Ghanaians to take up the role.

Cheddar, as he is popularly known, explained that numerous Ghanaians declined the offer due to concerns for their safety, expressing a preference for anonymity and reluctance to reveal their identities.

In a January 2024 TV3 interview, he disclosed, "At the beginning of the New Force with the mask and everything, we have been speaking to people, so many people to join us. But today, I want to tell the nation that we tried so many people to be the spokesperson, but they were all scared and didn’t want to use their faces."

Ms Abbiusi was deported by the authorities over claims that she forged her documents to gain entry into Ghana.

Cheddar, however, criticised the Ghana Immigration Service for their alleged failure to provide forged the alleged forged documents attributed to Shalimar Abbiusi.

He also noted in the intrrview that his presidential ambitions were inspired by a divine calling, stating, "My ambition to run for the presidency started with a dream. The dream led to the creation of a political party."
