'I've seen the light, NPP was leading us astray' — Sagnarigu NPP branch woman organizer defects to NDC

A polling station executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sagnarigu constituency at Garizegu A, in Nangbawu Yepala identified as Awal Mariam has defected to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mrs Awal took the decision when the NDC parliamentary candidate, Attah Issah and his team were touring the constituency to engage the people of the area as the year drew closer.

"If you were looking for a diehard supporter of the NPP beyond me you wouldn't get one again. But today I have defected to NDC, and the reason is - I have seen the light. The NPP was leading us astray. But we have found our way to the right path", she told the gathering at the event.

"I am assuring the NDC that both the presidential and parliamentary candidates of the party shall have my votes in 2024. No too ways about that. I shall convince everybody close to me to do same to enable the NDC win power...", the NPP former polling station executive added.

The NDC PC however was confident this would go along to convince people that the NDC is the only party that can help shape the destiny of the country.

According to him, everything shows that the NPP has failed Ghanaians and must be kicked out in 2024.

His constituency executives accompanied him, including the chairman, Alhaji Commander, the communication officer, and constituency women's organiser.
