Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commended the collaborative efforts of the Ghana Police Service, the Electoral Commission, and the media in ensuring a peaceful and violence-free presidential election held over the weekend.

The NPP's presidential election took place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 with the aim of selecting its flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 elections.

The party's delegates elected Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their candidate, who will go head-to-head with the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama.

He polled 118,210 votes out of the total of 193,346 votes cast, representing an impressive 61.47%. His main rival, Kennedy Agyapong, garnered 71,996 votes representing 37.41% of the ballots.

During an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show with Kwami Sefa Kayi, Nana Boakye expressed his satisfaction with the violent free election.

According to him, this feat could not have been achieved without the contributions of the Ghana Police Service, the Electoral Commission and the media.

"Ghana Police, they did extremely well for us. Electoral Commission, fantastic job! The media, you did very well," Nana Boakye emphasised.
