Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Otchere Darko, known well as KOD, has expressed disappointment in the performance of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo-Addo.

He averred that he would no longer vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections.

In an interview with Accra-based JoyPrime on Wednesday, September 13, KOD said he campaigned for the NPP in 2016 with the expectation that Ghana would see significant development under the party's leadership.

"It [Akufo-Addo’s administration] could have been better. This is supposed to be our best time in Ghana and it is one of the reasons why I supported his campaign in 2020. I don’t think he has done well,” he said.

He further stated, “In the next election, I won't vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but would rather do so for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)."

Together with some other celebrities, the journalist campaigned for then NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidential bid in 2016, hoping the party's leadership would help resolve Ghana’s economic challenges.
