NPP Assin North rally: ‘I take full responsibility, I apologise’ — Nana B begs Alan
THU, 29 JUN 2023 LISTEN

NPP's National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B has issued an apology to Mr. Alan Kyerematen and his team following an unfortunate incident that occurred during the NPP final rally in the Assin North constituency.

He said it was not a deliberate attempt to spite Hon. Alan Kyeremanten as speculated in some circles.

There was an interruption caused by the arrival of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia while Mr Alan Kyerematen was delivering his speech.

In a Facebook post, Nana B said, "I take full responsibility for this unfortunate lapse, and in all humility, I apologise unreservedly to Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and his team for this incident."

Read full statement below:
During the final rally, which was held in Assin Breku Methodist Park, to climax our campaign ahead of the Assin North by-election. The Vice President of the Republic, H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had to be ushered onto the dais before the President of the Republic could take his seat at the rally as protocol demands.

Unfortunately, the Vice President arrived at the time Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen was speaking at the rally causing an abrupt interruption in Hon. Kyerematen’s address.

As National Organiser, I take full responsibility for this unfortunate lapse, and in all humility, I apologise unreservedly to Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and his team for this incident.

I would, however, state unequivocally that the incident was purely as a result of a communication glitch. It was not intentional and could never be a deliberate attempt to spite Hon. Alan Kyeremanteng as speculated in some circles.

Stringent measures will be instituted to avoid a recurrence of this unfortunate lapse in the future.

The cohesion and unity of our party is very critical in these times, and I am committed to ensuring that we do everything possible to maintain the harmony and cohesion of our party ahead of the 2024 elections.
