I posted "Beware! Anas Aremeyaw Anas has gained momentum and is making a strong comeback," on October 11, 2022, for ModernGhana. When the head of the private investigation firm "TigerEye" stated last week that a short film about illegal mining in the nation will be released, I wasn't at all surprised. On November 14 and 15, 2022, the Accra International Conference Center was to have a public screening of the specific movie Anas named "Galamsey Economy."

Anas' intention to premiere the video and expose those government employees and politicians involved in illegal mining was welcomed by enthusiastic Ghanaians who have been fed up with this problem for a long time without a solution. Illegal mining has been one of the environmental hazards destroying our water bodies, giving rise to several ailments, and endangering the lives of the people where illegal activities are taking place.

With barely twenty-four hours until the start of the program, Anas Aremeyaw Anas issued a message to his social media alerting the public that the premiere of the "Galamsey Economy" has been postponed despite paying the venue and making additional payments to the management of the venue. Who is in control here? Who or what does the government fear? Who in the nation is so afraid for the public to know that they are engaged in unlawful mining?

The investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has been denied from presenting "Galamasey Economy," a film on politicians involved in illegal mining in the nation. The event must go to a new location because Ghana will not be allowed to be destroyed by corrupt and greedy politicians. A secure and healthy environment is necessary for both the present and future generations.

Anas shouldn't give in to all of these undesirable members of society that appear like sheep during the day and transform into wolves or monsters at night because we don't have to succumb to criminals, no matter the threat. Ghana has come to a point where individuals who have committed their lives to fighting corruption must concentrate and work tirelessly without fear, or else our nation, despite its rich resources, would be seized by corrupt and greedy politicians that don't care to set the country ablaze.

Although crime is always going to happen, however; the correct measures can be done to reduce it However, since Ghana has become a country where corruption has been entrenched with impunity and where those in high positions, including politicians, are never put behind bars, governments permit corrupt politicians and even journalists to work for the country, causing Ghana to lose its respect and value as a nation.

Akufo Addo is the type of president who is aware of his corruption and has no intention of fighting it. To win over voters, he campaigned on a platform of protecting the public purse, and it worked out well for him to bring himself into disrepute.

The heinous thing he did was to instruct Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, to return the assets to the deceased family after Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, aka Sir John, had his assets frozen after his will revealed his corruptible nature. What type of wise leader does that to reassure the populace that he or she is keeping his or her word?

Political crime is determined by various causal complexes, socio-economic, socio-political, and socio-psychological, which are connected and mutually conditioned. Only a simultaneous combination of several groups of factors can affect the state of political activity, according to scientists who studied the main causes of the existence, spread, and change of political crime.

The Special Prosecutor may have been prevented by the president from seizing the late politician's assets, but Akufo Addo has no authority to forbid Anas from showing his video; even the Supreme Court cannot do so without risking exposure as an institution supporting and promoting crime and corruption in this government.

In truth, law enforcement agencies, including the Ghanaian government and the police, should be in charge of preventing political crime. Unfortunately, the corruption within all of the aforementioned organizations is so pervasive that they actively oppose efforts to curb crime and corruption in Ghana. Anas' continued threat to this particular government is one of the reasons behind this.

According to a Ghanaian proverb, "It's not because everyone will die that we shouldn't sleep," Anas should look for another way to expose those responsible for the illicit mining in the nation. He shouldn't feel threatened because the world is behind him and is thus keeping track of all political developments in Ghana. More importantly, ambassadors who are in Ghana on behalf of their nations are quietly keeping an eye on it as well.

Akufo Addo, on the other hand, chose to become president of Ghana to embarrass himself in addition to corruption and crime. As a result, he will leave office as the worst president in the country's political history as well as the most disliked leader in Ghana.
