THOUGH NEW in the budding Ghanaian movie industry, easygoing did not appear as inexperienced as one may have presumed.

Her performance in Venus Films' Dons of Sakawa is not only a clear indication but it perhaps puts her splendor ahead of most of her new colleagues. Brenda's acting prowess is comparable with that of Nollywood big guns Mercy Johnson, Tontoh Dikeh and Rita Dominic.

She is likely to become the Sharon Stone of Ghana's movie industry. Known as Empress B among her friends, her hot and ultra sexy body appears ever ready for any hardcore role.

She most likely made life uncomfortable for fellow actor David Prince Osei, with whom she had some sultry scenes in Dons of Sakawa.

The Bsc. in Marketing with Operation Management degree holder from Greenwich University in London had no choice than to take up acting when the opportunity came knocking at her door. She however developed the interest after her uncle 2ga, a musician, introduced her to the producer of No Limit Entertainment Movie Production in Kumasi.

In early 2008, Brenda, who had lived and schooled in London for a greater part of her life, got her first role in hit Ghanaian movie Faithful Liar co-starring Kwame Owusu Ansah and Omar Sheriff Captain.

She went back to London after Faithful Liar and upon her return she was introduced to Abdul Salam, CEO of Venus Films. He then cast her in the yet-to-be-released movie, Material Girls.

She was again cast in Dons of Sakawa which featured top guns Majid Michel, John Dumela, and Gavivina Tamakloe, among other new faces. Arguably, Brenda did not disappoint Salam.

She expressed her enthusiasm for acting to BEATWAVES saying, “I am looking forward to subsequent movies. Basically, acting is more of a passion for me”. Even though acting appears interesting, for the actress in her mid-20s, she also considers it a tedious job.

“It looks very simple when you are outside but when you are in it, it is a big job, trust me. Sometimes it gets you frustrated but then it has this fun side where you get pampered on set, especially when you playing lead roles”, Brenda revealed.

Brenda was born to Mr. Tony Osei Bonsu, a businessman, and Angela Owusu Bentsil, a prophetess. She is the second of four sisters.

She also has five other siblings by her stepmom. She attended kindergarten in London and continued in Ghana at Alsyd Academy, Dzorwulu, till JHS 1.

She then went back to London to attend Eastham College. She proceeded to Westminster University to major in Information System and Business Management. A year later, she moved to Greenwich University.

“I found out that the course at Westminster has some mathematics and things going on there and I wasn't feeling it. So I had to defer to a different university”, she explained.

The light-skinned actress also imports ladies clothing for sale from China and London. While in London, Brenda did a number of adverts for MoneyGram and Ontouch which aired on OBE TV.
