Nigerian gospel singer Judikay has shared details of what she described as a difficult moment during childbirth after months of concern surrounding her pregnancy.
According to the singer, labour was progressing slower than expected despite intense pain.
“I was expecting the contractions to come as heated as it should. It wasn’t coming, but it was there, but not enough to push the baby,” she said.
Judikay recalled asking medical staff to check her condition because she felt exhausted.
“I said, ‘Do you want to check if I’m fully dilated? Because I’m tired. This pain is too much.’”
After being told she was fully dilated, she pushed and delivered the baby.
However, she said there was another shock waiting.
“The cord had gone around her neck twice,” she revealed.
According to Judikay, the situation was serious enough to leave a strong impression on her husband, who had been praying throughout the delivery.
“She had been strangled to the extent that she had even pulled in me,” she said.
Reflecting on the experience, the gospel singer said the outcome strengthened her faith and deepened her sense of gratitude.
“We know what God has done, and for that, Lord, we are grateful,” she said.
