Don't marry someone you’ve not dated for more than 7 years — TiC advises

Ghanaian hiplife singer Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah popularly known as TiC has shared his perspective on the criteria people should consider before marrying someone.

He argues that to get married to a person, you must have dated the person for more than 7 years, else don't marry him or her.

"Don’t marry a man or a woman you have not dated for more than 7 years. Thank me later," he wrote on Wednesday, May 1 via X.

However, in a reply to his post, a netizen argues that there is no manual for marriage and that what works for one may not work for others.

They cited examples of people who dated even more than 7 years but eventually broke up and even got married to another person less than a year later.

“There’s no manual for marriage, what worked for your marriage might not work for [President] Akufo-Addo’s marriage. Let people practice what works for them. Thank you Legend,” wrote the netizen.

“I know friends that dated for 9 years, they broke up eventually. The lady met a new guy and fast forward they got married less than a year later. They will celebrate 5 years of beautiful marriage next year. You have a point but ultimately God knows best. Shalom,” wrote the netizen.
