French left-wing parties in deal to form common 'popular front' for elections

Political parties representing the French left-wing said they had reached an agreement to form a 'Popular Front' to contest the snap parliamentary election which will be held over the coming month. There were tensions outside the venue where the talks were taking place as rival protests faced off. Left-wing party LFI has been accused of harboring anti-semitic views after embracing the Palestinian cause in the Israel-Hamas conflict. Clovis Casali reports.
