AFRIFA NOT A DEMOCRAT
KWAKU BADU | AMSTERDAM-Netherlands (Location: Netherlands) | 7/3/2009 2:25:00 AM
A.A. AFRIFA DESERVES TO BE CASTIGATED BECAUSE : 1. HE IS PART OF THE ARMY OFFICERS WHO INTRODUCED COUP TO GHANA. BECAUSE HE BECAME RICH AND POWERFUL AFTER THE COUP, COUP MAKING BECAME AN ATTRACTIVE BUSINESS FOR ARMY. HE PULLED DOWN ALL THE MUD HOUSES IN HIS VILLAGE NEAR MAMPONG ASHANTI AND BUILT ESTATE HOUSES FOR THE ENTIRE VILLAGE WITH THE EXCUSE THAT RAIN STORM HAS DESTROYED THE VILLAGE. WHILST NKRUMAH NEVER BUILT A SINGLE HOUSE FOR HIMSELF IN HIS HOME TOWN.2. IF AFRIFA WAS DEMOCRATIC AS THE WRITER WANT US TO BELIEVE WHY DID HE BANNED CPP? AND ANYTHING IN THE NAME OF NKRUMAH DURING THE 1969 ELECTIONS. 1969 ELECTIONS THAT BROUGHT PP TO POWER WAS NOT FREE AND FAIR BECAUSE NKRUMAHS'TRADITION WAS NOT REPRESENTED. GBEDEMAH FELL OUT WITH NKRUMAH BEFORE THE COUP AND SO COULD NOT BE SAID TO REPRESENT CPP TRADITION.
NKRUMAH NEVER DIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ATTA MILLS SHOULD REMOVE KOTOKAS' NAME FROM OUR AIRPORT IT IS AN INSULT TO OUR DEMOCRACY.
The true democratic soldier.

You are right, but Ghanaians are blind about that.By the way do not forget Gen Akuffo who prepared to handover to an elect government.Achempong tried to stay in power with the UNIGOV and Rawlings formed a party and he himself conducted an election and won.As you said Afrifa toppled a one party system government and did not form any party but handed over to a multiparty system government. He (Afrifa) and Rawlings, who is a democrat?
Re-Afrifa Democracy's Finest

I stand to declare that Afrifa was not a democrat as being alleged. Could someone up there tell me only one good thing that Afrifa did for Ghanaians? Nothing. This was the 2nd Brigade Group Major at Kwadaso, the headquarters that commands the operational and administative and logistical needs of the Armed Forces in the Northern Sector that include(Kumasi, Sunyani and Tamale). He became a Brigadier-General over-night on the eve of 23rd/24th February, 1966, thus jumping the ranks of Lieutenant-Colonel and Colonel. Over the years ie from February 1966 to September 1969 he reached the rank of General as an infantry officer. He was no doubt an ironic icon in the demonic deal that saw the exit of Dr Nkrumah. What good does this man stand for to be declared a Democrat by a reasonable human being. In one of his books, he wrote that "sprayed the columns of soldiers of the POGR_Presient's Own Guard Regiment, behind the walls of the Flagstaff House. If Ghanaians are truthful, we would know that Ghana's political and economic woes were created by General Afrifa from the 1966 coup. Why would anyone in his rightful thinking cap claim this man to be a Democrat. The writer even failed to mention the plot he played in the execution of General Kotoka and later Lieutenant Arthur. The diversion of building materials to build an ultra village ie Krobo. How many times did JJ promote himself from 1979 till year 2000? None. He regretted that Accra is the capital of Ghana. He preferred Kumasi instead. He also wanted to stand for elections but disqualified by age. And even he Afrifa was a mere infantry officer trained in Sandhust Academy, Great Britain as against JJ, a US trained Combatant Pilot of the highest calibre. Let us call a spade a spade and stop this dirty politics of claiming that Akwasi Amankwaa Afrifa emerged as the finest General. JJ brought democracy to the door-steps of the ordinary Ghanaian, expanded the local government basis and gave power to the people. After all, this General was very st***d enough for a Flight-Lieutenat(equivalent Captain) to be dragged to the gallows. He who lives by the sword, shall surely die by it.

You are right that he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. This applies not only to General Afrifa, but also to JJ Rawlings. For Rawlings, it's a matter of time.
