Abrankese, Nov. 18, GNA - Kessbenn F.C. maintained their leadership on the Glo Premier League table when they beat Obuasi Ashantigold 2-1 in their Sixth Week match played at the Anane Boateng Stadium at Abrankese near Kumasi on Wednesday.
Kessben who played a highly spirited game took the lead in the second minute from Ali Baba's powerful shot from outside the Ashgold box.
The home side continued to mount severe pressure on Ashgold for a second goal with the visitors sustaining the pressure and against the run of play Fred Quayson levelled up the scores in the 10th minute.
Ashgold's keeper Daniel Asamoah was red-carded by referee S. B. Bortey for a second bookable offence in the 52nd minute and Kessben nearly took the lead a minute later when Theophilus Anobah with only substitute keeper Mohammed Nurudeen to beat, shot wide.
Substitute Edmund Owusu Peprah secured the three maximum points for Kessben when he scored from a Bismark Idan's cross in the 56th minute.
