Accra, Nov. 6, GNA - The second edition of the All Africa Sports Awards is scheduled for Lagos, Nigeria in April, 2010.
A statement from the organisers, All Africa Sports Foundation, said the decision was taken at a recent meeting held in Accra, to formalise preparations for the event to commemorate Nigeria's 50th Independence Anniversary.
The event is to reward outstanding African sports men and women for their achievements in their respective fields over the years.
Outstanding personalities in the various sport disciplines football, athletics, boxing, tennis and cricket among others across Africa will be honoured.
Ghana hosted the maiden edition in November 2007, including an award gala in commemoration of her Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary celebration.
The event is rotated across African countries to give a real continental appeal and achieve the expected impact.
