Accra, July 2, GNA — Kofi Tettedzi and Nana Bema Tackie retained the Republic Day Championship Golf trophy they won last year, when they scored 44 points to win this year's event played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Wednesday.
The two who played 20 Back and 24 Front with a Handicap of 13 would now play to a new Handicap to be determined by the Handicap Committee.
The second position went to Joher Michael and his partner, Kwabena Degbe who scored 43 points, with the pair of H. R. Na and S. R. You placing third with 39 points, while Mike Aggrey and Frank Adu took the fourth position with 37 points.
The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which was sponsored by the Club attracted 100 golfers.
The occasion was also used to cut the sod for the commencement of the building of an ultra-modern Club House of the Club to commemorate its 75th anniversary.
The work is expected to be completed in October, this year.
