Pay £80M for Ribery or forget it

Bayern Munich may claim Franck Ribery is not for sale, but their former coach thinks he has a price.

Ottmar Hitzfeld believes that Bayern Munich would let Franck Ribery leave if a club were to offer between ?70 million and ?80 million, despite their claims to the contrary.

The Bavarian club's former trainer knows how things are done at the Allianz Arena and considers that if a huge bid was actually put in, then they could not say no.

Ribery's next move has been the subject of a long-running saga with several of Europe's biggest clubs being linked with the diminutive French star.

Real Madrid and Barcelona both made contact with Bayern, while Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all said to have mooted making their interest official.

But Bayern have stated on more than one occasion that they do not want to sell, although Hitzfeld thinks that would not be the case if a mega offer was made.

"Bayern is a club that makes its calculations with calmly," he told Sports Bild."If a club is willing to pay between ?70 million and ?80 million that Bayern would be obliged to react."
