Cape Coast tired of revoking curses

The Ogua Traditional Council, Cape Coast, in the Central Region, say they are tired of revoking the incessant curses in the area.

The chiefs and queen mothers of the area have been consulted to revoke more than 20 curses by their subjects in this year alone.

Nana Kojo Addae II, head of arbitration in the council, told Joy News that the rampant report of such cases in the traditional area is retarding its development.

He explained that often times the Council's attention has been diverted to deal with such cases, depriving them of the time and energy need to carry out their core function of undertaking development projects in the area.

Many residents of the area have taken to cursing their neighbours and family members whenever there is misunderstanding or an argument.

Nana Addae II stated that most people regret their actions after cursing and has therefore called for more education to curtail the acts.

Mostly, with the help of a fetish priest, the Council would demand sheep, schnapps, fowls and two bottles of minerals to pacify the gods to revoke the case.

So far there has not been any reported case of someone dying from any curse.
