Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, an aspirant for the Videoland Electoral Area for the forthcoming Assembly Elections is confident of winning the December 17, elections.

The aspirant said he has all the qualities needed of an Assembly Member and that he is optimistic the people will give him the nod over the other contestants.

Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, popularly referred to as Barrister Mallam Fari was speaking to this reporter at his office at Nima when he made the remarks.

He mentioned Sanitation, health, education, youth empowerment amongst his campaign priorities.

On education, he promised to organise vacation classes for final year Senior High School students in the area. I will foot the bills which include salary for teachers and other stationeries.

Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim however stated categorically that the vacation classes will for now be restricted to only students from his Electoral Area but there's a plan to extend it to cover students from other areas in future.

"We shall also do our best to support brilliant but needy students in our Electoral Area to help them further their education."

On health, the aspirant disclosed that they will be organising periodic health screening exercises for the people especially women, children and the aged.

Recently a breast cancer and hepatitis B screening was organised for the women in the area where medical assistance and counselling were offered to the women.

"We are currently undertaking a health insurance project particularly for the aged and children. We register people who do not have insurance cards and renew expired ones for the people.

"These, we hope will help the people in assessing health care delivery in the hospitals and clinics that offer health insurance services," he emphasised.

On sanitation, the aspirant noted that he and his team have done a lot. He mentioned clean up exercises, desilting of chocked gutters to get rid of filth and diseases as well as construction of culverts and gutters to ensure free flow of water during heavy downpours some of the initiatives they have carried out already in that regard.

He sees himself as the most competent amongst his competitors based on his track record. I have the links to bring development to the area.

His motivation to contest in the forthcoming elections has to do with his zeal, dedication and passion to serve and improve the life of the people.

The businessman was quick to add that he has been undertaken the aforementioned projects long before he nurtured the idea of contesting in the Assembly elections and that outcome of the elections will not stop him from doing such projects that will benefit the people.

In response to a rumour that the aforementioned projects he has undertaken were sponsored by the sitting MP for Ayawaso East, Hon.Mahama Toure, Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim admitted that though the sand and stones were provided by the MP, he was responsible for cement, water, workmanship amongst others.

"In short the projects are mine and not that of the MP, even though he provided the sand and stones," he stressed.

He called for peaceful campaign from the aspirants and supporters. We must campaign based on ideas, policies and what we have done and can do for the people and not on insults and wrong accusations.

"We are brothers championing same course but with different ideologies and I believe we must not fight each other because of elections.

"Elections will come and go but we still remain brothers and whoever wins is a victory for all and that politics must not create enmity amongst us.

"I am ready to accept the outcome of the elections and will contribute my quota to support the winner should I not win," hon. Ibrahim Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim assured.
