SEP 17, 2018 LISTEN

This current government wish to foot the bills of every Ghanaians for the betterment of us and for the nation Ghana, but there is an adage that says that one handful hand can never ever covered God’s face.NPP government keeps on hitting the nail that for Ghana to be Beyond Aid unless we the populace be a citizen and spectators by paying our taxes frequently.

To begin with, in Ghana the issue of taxes is a political one that can make or unmake governments. Ghana requires development, yet it does not have a well established tax system that ensures that it generates revenue to address its development challenges.

However, a chunk of Ghanaians are in the informal sector and fall outside the tax bracket, government have over the years reiterated the rhetoric of widening the tax bracket but are faced with a huge challenge of.How! I mean how and how can our beyond aid be feasible?

Moreover, the country produces innumerous of graduates yearly with only a hundred gaining employment. This means the system would only capture the handful and the thousands are left off the hook.

Thankfully, the current government has pledged to support private enterprise and self-employment. Irrespective of the economic situation of the person, irrespective of whether one is employed or not we all demand an equal share development, yet we all do not pay taxes.

Finally, it is for government to devise innovative ways of halting unemployment, at the same time widening and making our tax net comprehensive to we the citizens and not we the spectators.
