Mr Alhaji Amin Abu, a staunch youth activist of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and aspiring Organizer for Madina-Abokobi Constituency, has minced no words in calling on Ghanaians to reject the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) come 2012 when Ghanaians go to the polls.
According to him, President Mills and the NDC have totally failed Ghanaians since they had refused to honour their promises.
“President John Evans Atta Mills and the NDC has nothing to offer Ghanaians; a lot of people have now regretted voting them into power,” he stated.
Mr Alhaji Amin Abu said these in an interview with TODAY over the weekend.
“It is high time Ghanaians rejected the NDC because some elements within the party know that they have deceived Ghanaians—they are aware themselves,” he said adding that “Professor Mills and the NDC did not campaign in 2008, they told Ghanaians blatant lies and they sneaked their way through.”
“Over here in Madina, just take a walk through the market and it would baffle you to hear the market women, who are mostly NDC activists, condemning their own party and crying over the low patronage of sales and the high cost of goods which occur almost every week,” he indicated.
He continued that barely nine months into the Professor Atta Mills-led NDC administration, the story has been so far so “bogus and so 'Basaaa'.”
“You see, we told Ghanaians and they did not listen; when you look at what is happening now, there is nothing better they can do for Ghana,” he said.
He went on to say that President Mills, then Candidate Mills, promised to build Ghana through a 'Better Ghana Agenda' but he is currently doing the contrary.
“When you ask any Ghanaian now about what he or she thinks about Professor Mills and the NDC, he or she would tell you that so far so Zero,” he maintained.
He further indicated that Ghanaians have now realised that the NDC was no serious party that has something good to offer them.
“They promised a 'Better Ghana' during last year's general elections in December, but what we are witnessing and experiencing now is nothing but a very bitter Ghana,” Alhaji Amin Abu told TODAY.
“Just as they surprised us in 2008, we shall give them nothing but tears in 2012 when we vote in the general elections,” he noted.
He advised the NDC against any plans to abuse incumbency in 2012 and said: “when we have beaten them in the polls, President John Evans Atta Mills should be ready to hand over power to the NPP peacefully, just as we did in 2008.”
“I want to tell President Evans Atta Mills that President Kufuor stepped down peacefully and handed over power to him peacefully, so we expect that come 2012 when we vote again, he should be more than willing to hand over power back to the NPP; this is because his NDC government would be a one-term government.”
“We do not know the direction where we are getting to; my brother nobody knows. Today it is fuel shortage, tomorrow it is prices of food and high cost of living; President Mills and the NDC can never perform.” Source: The Ghanaian Journal - The Ghanaian Journal
