
Three suspected armed robbers have been picked up on Friday after a bag full of money was snatched at gun point at the Christian Village, close to Achimota in Accra, Police have confirmed.
The money was about to be transferred from a bank into a bullion van when gun men ridding motor bikes, popped up and disarmed the lone police man accompanying the bullion and bolted with the money in a Toyota pick-up.
Acting Director of Operations at the Police Head Quarters, Boi Bi Boi told Joy News three men are in police custody in relation to the incident.
They were arrested in a house upon a tip off after they had abandoned their motor bikes at a distance.
A pistol and ammunition were found in the house, the Director of Operations said.
The Police are hunting for the rest of the gang who sped off with the
unspecified amount of money.
