A/R: Tragic highway accident claims 3 lives, one other person injured

There has been a tragic highway accident at New Koforidua off the Ejisu-Konongo Highway in the Ashanti Region.

The collision occurred on Monday, April 29, between a Nissan Pick-Up (GN 1645-21) and a Mitsubishi Fuso Truck (GT 8794-W).

The accident resulted in significant damage to the Nissan Pick-Up and partial damage to the head of the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck.

The road crash was reported to the Konongo Fire Station at 16:30 hours, and it left one (1) injured and three (3) dead, their identities including a Ghanaian named Michael Obeng and two (2) suspected Indian nationals.

“The lifeless bodies of the deceased 3 were sent to the Stewards Morgue for preservation and further investigation. The rescue operation, led by SubO Sarpong Francis Boateng, commenced swiftly upon arrival at 16:48 hours, with emergency services deployed promptly to manage the aftermath,” a press release from the Ghana National Fire Service said.
