The Board and Management of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) have embarked on an official trip to the Volta and Oti regions to familiarize themselves with the day-to-day operations of the offices and address any challenges faced by staff.

During the one-day tour, the group visited three regional offices, namely Ho, Akatsi, and Denu, with plans to meet in Hohoe before proceeding to the Oti region. The purpose of the tour is to gain insights into the difficulties encountered by staff and explore potential solutions through direct interaction.

Mr. Prince Opoku Adu-Sei, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Operations at the DVLA, highlighted the importance of periodic monitoring of all offices nationwide to ensure project implementation according to plan and assess overall performance. He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Volta region while acknowledging existing challenges that require attention.

"We are pleased with the progress observed so far in the Volta region, although there is room for improvement. We will address the identified issues upon our return to ensure optimal service delivery," stated Mr. Adu-Sei Opoku.

Additionally, plans are underway to establish DVLA offices in all sixteen regions, with the team scheduled to visit the Oti region to inspect acquired land earmarked for the construction of a regional office. They remain optimistic that finalizing the land acquisition process will coincide with the completion of office complex procurement.

Despite expressing satisfaction with DVLA services, Mr. Robert Aklamanu Williams, the Volta regional manager, raised concerns about underage riding among the Mahama Can Do Riders in Ho. This challenge poses a significant difficulty for the agency, warranting further attention and remedial action.
