NDC to officially outdoor Prof Jane Naana as 2024 running mate on April 24

The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold a ceremony next week to officially present Professor Jane Opoku-Agyemang as its running mate for the 2024 general elections.

According to a press statement issued by the party's National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, the event is scheduled to take place on April 24 at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

"The NDC announces for the information of its rank and file and the general public, that the party shall hold a ceremony to out-door its Running Mate for the 2024 General Election in Accra next week," the statement said in part.

The ceremony will be graced by NDC flagbearer and former president John Dramani Mahama as well as other top party executives.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang is expected to address Ghanaians on the NDC's vision under Mr Mahama's leadership as well as the party's policies.

"The Running Mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will address the nation on the NDC’s vision for a progressive, inclusive and prosperous Ghana, as well as the live-transforming policies of our visionary Flag-bearer for the 2024 general elections," the statement said.

The event will also offer the renowned academic the platform to showcase her credentials and why the NDC deserves Ghanaians' vote.
