The 1999 year group of Legon Presbyterian Boys' Senior High School (Presec, Legon) has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to construct an ultra-modern Artificial Intelligence lab for the school, signaling a commitment to future-focused education.

Named the " Odadeɛ '99 eXperience Center," the project aims to provide cutting-edge education in Artificial Intelligence, transcending mere technical proficiency. The center's vision includes nurturing students into skilled AI practitioners while fostering qualities of empathy and responsibility.

Mr. Wonder Madilo, president of the 1999 year group, speaking in an interview with the media at the launch and sod-cutting ceremony at the school premises on Wednesday, April 10th, highlighted the center's mission to advance educational and research endeavors in AI and Robotics, stressing the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry to equip the next generation with essential AI skills.

Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Odadeɛ Global President, emphasized the significance of preparing students to utilize AI tools for societal benefit, considering the technology's pervasive influence across various sectors.

Richard Ansong, project finance chair, and communication, underscored the urgency of educating students to adapt to the rapidly evolving technological landscape, calling for collaborative efforts from organizations and individuals to support the initiative.

During the launch, notable alumni, including Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Nana Owiredu Wadei I Nkosouhene of Kwahu-Nkwantia, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, and Samuel Omari, made generous contributions toward the construction of the center. Their donations amounted to GH50,000, GH200,000, GH50,000, and GH10,000 respectively, demonstrating their commitment to their alma mater's advancement.

Mr. David Odjija, the headmaster of Presec, lauded the 1999 year group's initiative, expressing gratitude for their support and highlighting the transformative impact the completed project will have on the school.
