The Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Export Promotion Authority has said products of about 50 young entrepreneurs will be exported to countries such as Kenya as part of the African Continental Free Trade.

Speaking at the launch of the 2024 Edina Bakatue festival, Mr Samuel Kofi Dentu hinted that these entrepreneurs will be trained in various skill sets and have some of their produce exhibited during the main Edina Bakatue festival scheduled to take place in July 2024. Mr. Dentu said this move will help minimize the soaring rate of unemployment in the municipality.

For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive of Komenda Edina Equafo Aberim municipality, Hon. Solomon Ebo Appiah advocated for the need to avoid the politicisation of the initiative in the municipality. He called on fellow politicians to use their opposing views for the development of the area.

Mr. Ebo Appiah said the worrying statistics provided by the municipal health directorate indicated that teenage pregnancy is on the ascendency hence the need to have all stakeholders on board to help curb the menace.

The Omanhene of Edina Traditional Council Nana Kodwo Conduah VI expressed his warmest appreciation to the people of Edina, businesses and institutions in KEEA for their outstanding contributions to previous celebrations and charged them to go beyond their limits in the 2024 Edina Bakatue festival.
