Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has taken a swipe at "failed" Dr. Mahamadu Mahama, the Vice President of Ghana.

The NDC stalwart and legal practitioner said the Veep is being followed by rented crowds wherever he goes.

In a tweet, Miss Bawa stated that the Vice President after all the promises then in opposition, has failed to manage the country’s economy.

"Not long ago, Dr. Bawumia was said to be an economic whiz kid, hand-picked to fix Ghana’s economic woes.

"Today, having failed woefully and with corruption at an all-time high, our vice president now rents crowds to do for him what he has failed to do for the good people of Ghana," she wrote.

Her tweet follows Vice President’s ambition to lead his party in the upcoming 2024 general elections to break the 8-year jinx of governance in the country.

His visit to the Ashanti region, particularly to the Manhyia Palace, where he joined the Asantes in the celebration of their Akwasidae, was escorted by over 80 NPP MPs, led by Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader.

Meanwhile, as the Vice President is yet to officially declare his intention to contest the NPP’s flagbearer position, the race has already been occupied by Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Mr. Kwabena Agyeu Agyapong, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Mr. Francis Addai Nimo, and others.

However, the leadership of the party is yet to agree on the date for the presidential and parliamentary primary elections.
