The Winneba Youth Choir has just returned from a tour of eight US cities. By all indications the teenagers made Ghana proud and had a pretty successful trip. They put Ghana on the world choral map as has
previously not been done. They however, came home with a debt burden of $26,000.
Since being at home the group has appealed to several groups, their patrons, admirers and the general public to help them pay off the debt. The debt was incurred because they had to part finance their air fare for the tour.
The Graphic Showbiz had an editorial in the November 12-18, 2009 edition which among other things admonished the choir to dare the government to commit National resources to clearing the debt since they were on tour to represent the country. On Saturday 14th, Peace fm committed about an hour of their entertainment review show to the choir to present their case.
pinnaclegh.com believes that other than these recognizable mediums there are several others who have in their own way tried to seek help for the group. We have thus decided to publish an article a week on the group and give the general public update on the debt situation till it has been cleared. We will ask that other websites and media owners join in the campaign to help the Winneba Youth Choir to clear the $26,000 debt.
Please Contact the Choir to donate and help relief their debt burden. If you can not reach the choir we are pretty sure once your intension are made known to the Graphic Communications Group, they will be able to direct you as to how to go about it. You could also contact the Entertainment Review team at Peace Fm and we are confident they will be able to get you through to the Choir. Alternatively, you can call +233 26 8734333 and we will show you how to get to the choir.
